Job Overview—Part Time
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Station Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service to passengers traveling with the airline. The agent will be responsible for managing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive travel experience for all passengers, provide safe and efficient handling of baggage, cargo, and mail for the airline and the operation of ground support equipment.
Counter Service:
- Assist customers with reservations, payment processing, ticketing, confirmation detail emails, and changes to travel itineraries while maintaining accurate and detailed records of customer interactions and transactions.
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or in-person in a professional and courteous manner, handling customer complaints and issues with empathy, diplomacy, and professionalism.
- Provide assistance to passengers with boarding and baggage and those with disabilities or special needs.
- Assist in the coordination of flight schedules, including rebooking of passengers due to cancellations or delays.
- Stay informed of airline policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assist and advise customers who may be choosing from a variety of travel options by answering product questions, recommending multi-ticket options and upselling supplemental services as appropriate.
- Answering any questions customers might have about the reservation process.
- Perform other customer service duties and additional airport-related procedures as assigned by the Customer Service Manager.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds in a sometimes physically demanding environment .
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software programs.
- Previous experience in aviation, customer service, hospitality, or related field preferred.
Ramp Service
- Ramp operations which include marshaling and parking of aircraft, pushback and tow operations.
- Load and unload passengers and their bags, luggage, cargo, and mail to and from the aircraft and baggage areas.
- Perform aircraft turnaround tasks, including cleaning the aircraft cabin and ensuring the aircraft is prepped and ready for departure.
- Communicate with the flight crew and ground personnel regarding aircraft status and handling procedures.
- Comply with all safety and security regulations and procedures.
- Effectively utilize radio for essential communications between counter and ramp
Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions. The work, hangar and ramp environment may include loud aircraft and machine noise, where hearing protection is required, rain, hot temperatures in the summer and cooler temperatures in the winter where applicable clothing/protection may be required. This position requires medium lifting capabilities to move baggage and packages in excess of 50lbs. There may be instances where heavy parts and machinery must be lifted but done so in a manner and/or with assistance from others or with lifting equipment to ensure the employee is not strained or injured.
